Tortuguero National Park is a protected natural space on the Caribbean coast of northern Costa Rica. Its beaches are famous because various sea turtles, such as the endangered green turtles, dig their nests there. The park's streams and freshwater lagoons, which can be navigated by boat or canoe, are home to spectacled alligators and river turtles. Monkeys and various species of birds can be found in the dense jungle.
